Marketing and sales Kenya job vacancies.
Our client, a leading regional tours and travel company has an immediate need to fill the position of a General Manager- Sales and Marketing. Reporting to the Managing Director, the main responsibility for this position is to develop and maintain marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives, evaluate customer research, market conditions, competitor data and implement marketing plans as needed, and oversee all marketing,
advertising and promotional, marketing growth and expansion activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales and Marketing
* Achieve individual & team sales targets
* Increase sales and retain customers, through client relationship management.
* Identify new business and key decision makers and give sales presentations with follow ups until business is closed.
* Identify growing market, emerging market, untapped market etc. in the East African Region and develop ways of tapping into the target segment market
* Monitoring competitor products offerings with a view to ensuring the Company’s products have a competitive edge
* Liaise with operations team to jointly improve after sales service
* Prepare regular reports on client activities, projects, etc.
* Conduct one-on-one review with your sales force to improve individual’s sales and activity performance.
* Co-ordinate sales activities with the Managing Director
* Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products.
* Visit franchised dealers/agents to stimulate interest in expansion of sales in Company products.
* Develop and implement schemes aimed at building customer loyalty
* Generate and coordinate persuasive communication content for the customers

Program planning and management
* Ensure that the company's sales & marketing activities are properly planned and organized, and that the company has the human, financial and material resources to implement planned activities.
* Develop and oversee plans in relation to advertising, sales promotion, public relations, personal selling and sales management
* Provide oversight on the sales & marketing activities of all Departments and branches and to ensure that departmental and branch activities are mutually supportive and consistent with the objectives of the company
* Monitor the day-to-day delivery of the sales & marketing programs and services of the organization to maintain or improve quality
* Develop and monitor brand performance with key marketing measures
* Monitor brand performance with key marketing measures

Financial planning and Human Resource Planning
* Work with the sales & marketing team and the MD to prepare and control a comprehensive Sales & Marketing budget
* Approve budget expenditures within the authority delegated by the MD
* Determine price schedules and discount rates.
* Review operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability.
* Determine and implement staffing requirements for Sales & Marketing department and develop job descriptions for the staff
* Recruit, interview and select staff that have the right technical and personal abilities for the department
* Implement the Company’s performance management process for all staff in the department which includes monitoring the performance of staff on an on-going basis and conducting an annual performance review
* Coach, mentor and develop staff within the department as appropriate to improve performance

Position Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
* A degree in business or marketing, an MBA will be an added advantage.
* 5 years sales and marketing experience in a busy FMCG company with 2 in a supervisory position. Added advantage to those experienced in sales & marketing and business development in the Travel Industry.
* Solid experience in E-commerce, developing and maintain business growth and branding.
* Good interpersonal, negotiation and communication skill. Capable of working as part of a team and leading a team with good leadership and supervisory skills.
* Ability to work with minimum supervision.
* Proactive and able to take initiative to propose and implement new approaches.
* Flexibility, integrity, the confidence to think differently and ability to make sound judgment.
* Strong degree of self-motivation and drive, high ethical standards, values and principles
* A team player with the ability work and communicate in a culturally diverse environment

Remuneration: The salary for this position will be KSh 200,000 gross per month, plus benefits including medical cover, pension and mileage.
