Job Title: Hospital Director

Location: Dagahaley, Dadaab Refugee Camp

Start date: as soon as possible


Length of contract: Open

Main Tasks:

* Ensure the quality of medical activities in the hospital.
* Responsible for the coordination of medical activities in the hospital.

Function responsibilities:

* Ensure the quality of medical activities in the health structure more specifically regarding validation and implementation of medical and therapeutic protocols, procedures and standards. Evaluate the different services.
* Elaborate the medical project of the hospital for the year: policy formulation and planning, organisation of services and implementation, evaluation and evolution:
* Participate in the development of the plan of action
* Provide technical support for medical doctors of the hospital.
* Ensure that the referrals from health posts to hospital ,Garsissa and Nairobi are organised .
* Participate in research projects regarding medical activities.
* Be aware of the scope of activities that each function is supposed to be responsible for within the hospital
* Oversee general management of staff related to hospital activities and more specifically work in close collaboration with team supervisors.
* Plan the medical human resources needs and supervise the recruitment process
* Establish the needs for training, propose and implement training schedule for the medical staff.

Requirements:

* Degree in Medicine from a recognised Institution and must be registered with relevant body
* At least 2 years experience in a management position
* Minimum 1 year experience as a medical doctor in-charge of a hospital ward
* Fluent in English, good communication skills, negotiating and organisational skills.
* Humanitarian spirit, flexible and able to work in a demanding and challenging work environment, able to work to strict deadlines and under pressure.
* Motivated with a demonstrated ability to adapt to new working methods.
* Ability to live and work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.

* Ability to work with different partners, local authorities, local organizations and NGOs, to develop and maintain positive relationships
* Strong management and communication skills
* Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina

Nurse (3 positions) Purpose
The Nurse will assist the doctor in analysis of medical claims arising from road traffic accidents and will play a
key role in the provision of a second medical opinion on the nature of injuries sustained.

Key Responsibilities
Research and report writing pertaining to the confirmation of diagnosis made and treatments administered with claims and reporting on the same.
Analysis, Interpretation and verification of medical records pertaining to accident claims.
Responsible for highlighting misdiagnosis and/ or irregular medical records.
Preparation of medical reports and statistics.
Understanding of medical health facility procedures and medical records.

Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelors Degree in nursing desirable though not a must
KRCHN registered with the Nursing council of Kenya and posses a valid license.
Working experience in the insurance industry is an added advantage.
Possess strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
High moral and ethical standards with independence of mind and ability to defend his/her position on significant issues.

1. Assistant Projects & Maintenance Manager

Reporting to the Manager, Projects & Maintenance and the successful candidate’s role will include but not be limited to:

Key Result Areas:
Assist in managing all hospital projects and maintenance work in an efficient and cost effective manner ensuring conformity to Quality Standards and observing Environmental, Health and Safety Regulations.


Plan, schedule, communicate and assign tasks to the team and monitor to completion, ensuring conformance to specifications, standards and schedule of the requisitioning department.
Develop work designs that are easy for staff to understand and execute
Maintain optimum stock levels, ensuring all transactions are well document and records maintained
Create a work environment that fosters a high level of responsibility, integrity and team spirit.
Conduct performance management assessments for staff and recommend remedial measures for gaps and growth for the team
Minimum Requirements for the position:
BSc. Degree in Engineering. Registered Graduate Engineer and Member of Engineering Professional Body
Certificate or Diploma in Project Management will be an added advantage
5 years working experience in a relevant field 2 of which should be hands on managing and supervising a diverse Projects & Maintenance workforce
Must be computer literate - Ms Word and Excel, knowledge of AutoCAD Software will be an added advantage

2. Buyer - Surgical

Reporting to the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager, the successful candidate’s role will include but not be limited to:

Key Result Areas:
Receiving non stock requisitions for surgical items from user departments and source for quotations
Negotiate order prices with suppliers and recommend competitive supplier to P&SC Manager before purchase
Source, evaluate and select suppliers as per set guidelines for addition on the approved suppliers list
Evaluate suppliers performance and assist in surveillance audits
Evaluate requisitions for authorization while ensuring compliance with quality standards
Ensure proper documentation and records management of all transaction for easy access and retrieval
Monitor and maintain optimum stock levels at the Surgical Store
Routinely audit purchasing operations to ensure maximum efficiency and compliance with quality standards
Make follow ups on ordered items to ensure proper and timely delivery
Participate in stock take in the Surgical Store and oversee stock variance reports
Minimum Requirements for the position:
Degree in Procurement or any business related field
Must have at least 3 years working experience in a busy establishment. Experience in Hospital procurement or Nursing background will be an added advantage
Must be computer literate [MS word, Spread Sheets and Power Point]
Competencies:
Must demonstrate high level of Honest & Integrity
Good administrative and communication skills written and oral
Can meet deadlines with minimum supervision
Keen on detail and high degree of accuracy
Good in decision making and time management
Good team player and PR skills
